"First Words for Kids" is an educational app that introduces 15 essential words to children, including animals, vehicles, shapes and colors, household items, and numbers (121 words are available in the Pro version). With its three different hint alternatives (color hints, letter hints, and color and letter hints) and five customizable settings, this app offers a challenge that can be adjusted to suit your child's level of difficulty. The unique interface, featuring a list of thumbnails, allows your child to explore all the words and provides hours of both fun and education.

SYNTHETIC PHONICS

"First Words for Kids" introduces a unique approach to reading called Synthetic Phonics. It effectively links individual letters and letter combinations with their appropriate sounds and demonstrates how to blend these sounds together to pronounce words. The app offers two setting levels:

1. “Synthetic Phonics Basic”: This level introduces synthetic phonics to children by presenting simple words and teaching them how to blend sounds using basic phonemes (the smallest single identifiable sound).
2. “Synthetic Phonics Advanced”: This level introduces more complex words and letter sounds that include graphemes (groups of letters representing one sound), digraphs (two letters making one sound), and letters that have multiple sounds.
